The modern energy drink has roots in a Thai concoction called Krating Daeng. It was marketed to factory workers and truckers trying to get through long shifts. The original Krating Daeng was made with the same combination of taurine and caffeine but was actually sweeter than the modern energy drink. On a fateful day in the late 1980s, Austrian entrepreneur Dietrich Mateschitz discovered that Krating Daeng cured him of his jet lag after a business trip to Thailand. He liked it so much he eventually tracked down the creator of the drink and the two went into business together. Mateschitz made the drink berry-flavored, rebranded it, and brought it to European markets in 1987. The rest, as they say, is history. Speaking of history, grab yourself a piece of history and see what “exact replica” means, because Super Energy is 100% Super, 100% Energy!
